[Suggestion] Prisoner sleep dream bubbles

Postby Causeless » Tue Apr 02, 2013 6:28 pm

I think it'd be cool if when prisoners were sleeping, and you had a psychologist hired, when they sleep you could see dream bubbles. The dream bubbles could give an insight into a prisoners personality traits - for example, a low risk prisoner may dream more about family and home, high risk would dream about murder, and medium somewhere in the middle.

Also, so it's not a simple case of watching for what appears in the bubbles, some prisoners may be a harder nut to crack and be very closed and only show "zzz" when sleeping, and some other prisoners may be insane and constantly fluctuate between different dreams. With these prisoners, you would need to see by there actions. There would be some overlapping too, so if a prisoner is dreaming about home and freedom he might not just be homesick, but actually having an escape plan in progress.

i think he means the "dream bubble" should contain something like "wishes", maybe something you have missed to setup while building or build not yet. this will make sense until there are more possibilities to treat prisoners needs.

for example some dream about telephones, other about chatting in the internet, playing soccer or basketball. and if you don't care about prisoner dreams, they dream about escaping ;)

edit: the "dream bubble" may show more what they "plan" to do next day, not the needs.

Lets make sure to give them ambitions, too. Then just click on your Sim, and do what he wishes and get points, which you can use to get items with!

This suggestion really does look a lot like the sims.. In a way.

I think it's better not to know what the prisoners think or dream. It is much more realistic. And "Prison Architect" is supposed to be a prison simulator, not a game like "The Sims". Maybe bubles for talks, if there is a nearby guard that can hear the conversation.

I'd like to see the ability to bug prisoner rooms so that if they talk in their sleep then you may get a hint as to things that may be happening in your prison which you weren't aware of. This could be displayed on a notification panel , otherwise it would be rather annoying to have hundreds of dream bubbles pop up at once.
