And while I'm on the topic of hardware configurations (see http://forums.introversion.co.uk/prisonarchitect/viewtopic.php?t=1918) has anyone thought about compiling a list of known good, or bad hardware configurations?
Should such a list reside here (in the developer forum) or on the Wiki?
It seems that such a list would be helpful to IV once PA moves to Beta.
Then again, if hardware is not a concern, please let me know so I can find something else to wonder about...
Known Good/Bad/Ugly Hardware Configurations

As I said on the other thread, Prison Architect is currently in Alpha. No code optimization has been done whatsoever. Which means that such a list would be completely useless for Introversion since it'll change completely when they finally start optimizing the game.

No, it wouldn't. Again, the code hasn't been optimized at all, so once they start doing that, such a list compiled right now would be obsolete. Optimized code will definitely run better on all machines.
As for hardware-related bugs, ok, that might be a reason for such a list. But as the major bug-fixing will probably not occur until beta, so there's still time for that later, I guess.

Since this thread is about what, if any, hardware is best/worst for PA and not about whether the code has been hardware optimized, let's not worry about the code or alpha bugs.
Some people may want to discuss hardware and others may not.
If you would rather not, then simply do not reply to this thread.

Yes, it would.
Even if the later alphas get optimized and fixed, customers have a basic right to know whether or not the game will work at the current time for them. If it doesn't, you can't just say "too bad, wait until we fix it"; I mean, they are forced by law to give refunds to U.K customers for example, if it doesn't work. If they cannot or decide not to, they face a lawsuit considering they are a U.K based company. It's more trouble for both Introversion and customers if you decide Introversion doesn't need it yet...
I'm not even saying Introversion should give us this info, because they don't have it. But if a community-made list of known hardware configs is made, it shouldn't be ignored. At the very least, it should be stickied, regardless of whether or not it'll eventually become obsolete.
