British English and American Versions?
Heya,
I was just wondering, as Introversion is a British Company. Then why is the money in Dollars ($) and not Great British Sterling (£). Also, the emergencies button is 911 (the American Emergency line) and not 999 (the British Emergency line). This is just a bit of a wonder, and sort of request, so that way we can have two versions of it.
Thanks for everything.

I'd call it narrow-minded.

I believe Prison Architect isn't really meant to be set anywhere. I read in an interview that the setting is obviously American-inspired at the moment, what with the orange prison uniforms, electric chair, CEO, dollars, etc., but they're going to try and make it more ambiguous as development goes on.
Jeeesuuus Christ. What a stupid question
Why on Earth would they use £ just because they're from the UK?
Stalker was developed in Ukraine... It doesn't use UAH as currency.
Hitman was developed in Denmark... It doesn't use DKK as currency.
The Anno series was developed in France/Germany... They don't use EURO as currency
Everyone knows what 1$ equals to in their own currency. No one knows what the rest (Beside maybe £) equals to.
Same with the emergency number. The whole world knows the US uses 911 as their emergency number (Thanks to movies/games). I never knew the UK uses 999... So I would get confused with what seems like a random number

It never ceases to surprise me how US-centric so many people. Anyways, personally, I don't care which currency, emergency number, or anything that is country identifying that is used in the game, but to assume that everyone knows everything about the US is just kind of sad. The original question isn't stupid or silly, and like the OP said, he's just proud to be from the UK (I'm Canadian by the way)
