[Suggestion] Armoury

Postby HowPeculiars » Thu Dec 27, 2012 5:54 pm

Hi,

What about an Armory room where firearms are stored etc? It could be pre-requisite to your guards having guns and tasers (instead starting with just batons) giving them a greater presence and influence (hence compliance rate) - but also pose a major security risk if the room is compromised by prisoners. Prisoners with intent to escape or incite a riot may also make this a priority. Number of guns/gun types can be limited by number of weapon racks making it an important consideration as the prison grows (Weapons racks should either be expensive to buy or incur a recurring maintenance fee)

Some players may even want to forgo their guards having firearms, this gives them the option - both options should be balanced.

Maybe it would nice to be able to designate types of guards (riot guard, outdoor patrol, indoor patrol), and assign duties to those types.

and guards would have skill sets (marksman, etc).

Does anyone know how this worked in "Evil Genius"?

There was an amory and only if you higher the alert level, your minions started arming themselves. For Prison Architect this would mean: If you are in lockdown, your guards run to the Armory and armed themselves. After that, they aren't as "scared" to enter a room, where riots are as they are now.

That only works if you have to deal with one dangerous spy.

Not a dozen rioting prisoners which sending your entire guard force to a few rooms would... render your entire base defenseless?

It could be used to 'secure' areas. If there's a riot reason would state that you'd have gaurds surround the door at a distance in case prisoners try and break out to take other areas.
Yes, that is a penguin with rabies. Deal with it.
