[Suggestion] Prisoners leave Infirmary once treated + Snitch

Postby Rasputin_ » Sat Dec 22, 2012 11:24 am

I seem to find my two infirmarys to be constantly overflowing with criminal scum, they go there for treatment and then never seem to leave! Unless of course I manually send a guard to collect them and take them back to their cell, I'm not sure if this is intentional or not. Could they return to their cells automatically once treated? Or even just exit the infirmary!

Another thought, snitches... You can pay off a prisoner to give you information about fights (give them extra meals, money, a TV, that kind of thing), contraband and other prohibited actvities. This could maybe also involve gangs forming in the prison; with rival gangs fighting and causing trouble in the yard etc.

Prisoners not leaving the infirmary is a known bug. Some do, but not all. In fact, the entire infirmary thing is slightly broken ATM. Only some injured prisoners get escorted there. Ideally, your doctors should not have to chase the injured around. But I'm sure the devs will fix it soon. As soon as Xmas dinner and the mandatory strong drink have left their system. :P

As I've understood, new builds are released about monthly, with a few bug fixes and a couple of new features per build.

As for snitches, hmm. First that dropped into my mind is why? All my prisoners need to pass through metal detectors at least two times daily (leaving cell-blocks in morning, and entering cell-blocks at night + new inmates are channeled through a metal detector as well by the entrance). Catches all current contraband. Who knows what the future might bring though :)

In previous versions of the game I noticed that if a Prisoner with contraband was being escorted through a metal detector no one would run to search them, even though the detectors did activate. As they are escorted when they first arrive metal detectors at the front gates never worked for me.

I don't know if they have fixed that in the latest couple versions because I've not seen a situation where I was sure an escorted prisoner had contraband.

Ah ok, makes sense now.

I was thinking more that snitches would make sense if there were gangs involved. Someone in a gang can tell you what's going down and where maybe?

I think I've seen this suggested by someone else, but personalities or traits of the prisoners could be used to form gangs. A prisoner could have strong leadership; more likely to form a gang and become the leader. Some prisoners could be "dumb"; more likely to join a gang and do the leg work for the leaders.

One question though. I swear my metal detector once went ballistic after an inmate carried a wooden spoon through it, so apparently these aren't metal detectors and rather "evil intent" sensors. Also what would he do with a wooden spoon? The spoon thing brings me onto this: If we could please have more variety in the contraband from the cafeteria and kitchen I would appreciate it, like a cheese grater or something. Also, if we could have prisoners line up for their meals served by cooks as opposed to a mad rush for the bacon and mashed potatoes? And the snitch thing could be some kind of pool wherein every time there is a fight, so you don't miss it you are notified as it happens. Like for every item/bonus you give the snitch you get x number of notifications or auto searches on prisoners for contraband.

I thought there was only knives from the kitchen, until the other day about 40 prisoners managed to raid the kitchen, but of course they tripped the "metal detector" on their way out, and I found loads of them had the brushes for cleaning trays, mops, spoons, and one had a rake for some reason... I don't know why there was a rake in the kitchen, but I do worry about my mad little chefs O.o

I've always wondered why they do not use pool-cues and balls to fight each other..

Ooh that just gave me a brilliant idea! What if the prisoners were able to tinker with the telly's and take the wiring out then electrocute everybody in the showers? That could be only doable by those with computer hacking crimes or similar? Then you'd have to reconsider where you put telly's and make it more difficult to keep prisoners happy as they can't have tellys in their cells without the danger of mass murder in the showers. :D

Just because you have a telephone dosn't mean you can automatically electricute everyone in a shower. Though that does open up to the fun possibility of "accidents" occuring where without someone on the inside telling you could easily write it off as an accident and move on.
Yes, that is a penguin with rabies. Deal with it.

I meant TV's lol. And I don't mean its automatic that everyone can be electrocuted in the shower, I just mean if there's like high profile hackers when the different category of prisoners gets implemented. That way it is a pretty rare occurrence of electrocution as the prisoner would be a special prisoner and would have to be unhappy and have it's freedom want level pretty high. :)

Gotta love multiple versions of english :) It would be interesting to see how it would be possible to detect them before they fry a couple guys in the shower though.

Big plasma screen teves sticking out of their back pockets of their orange suits might give them away.

Maybe you can point a remote at them and press the power button to see what happens.
