[Suggestion] Change settings for existing prisons

Postby PtinzMegahertz » Mon Nov 05, 2012 8:58 pm

Hi guys,

I am with you since alpha 1 and so far, I'm having a blast playing this game.
Now for my request:

I would really like to have global settings like prisoner intake and fog of war to be changeable within a running game. The main reason for this is that I am currently running a youtube let's play and would like to show my viewers how PA progresses without the need to rebuild my prison for each new feature.

I realize that this should not be within the final version, but for now, I would really appreciate if you would let us adjust those settings during alpha and maybe beta for existing prisons.

Thank you!

Whilst it's not WITHIN the game, you can change your save file to change these values.

If you go to your save folder and find the specific savegame, you can see the lines:

Code: Select all

EnabledIntake        true
EnabledVisibility        true

at the top (amongst others)

To turn them off, you need only remove the lines. To add them back, put them back.

To turn them off, you need only remove the lines. To add them back, put them back.

Or, ahem, set them to false to turn things off, true to turn them on... ;)

Doesn't the game remove lines flagged false? Probably quicker to just delete them so.

Really? How odd.

I stand corrected. As you were.
