Release Schedule for Prison Architect
"Currently we have hundreds of proposed ideas that people would like to see in the game,
What I think would be good, is if the DEV team, went through and responded and let us know of the ideas what is possible, what can be done soon, what can be done later. etc etc etc
http://forums.introversion.co.uk/prisonarchitect/viewtopic.php?t=783 "
We want to be more in the loop with the progress of the game, and to know that the Devs are reading and taking on board Alpha Tester's suggestions.
I think I speak for most of the DEV Community here when I ask if it is possible for some Dates to be put forward (at least months or quarters) for when updates will be released. ( and what those updates will hopefully contain, so that we have certain things to look forward to in the short term.
As over 200K has been given to the Team from Fans so far, and I know I want this to hit 1 Million Dollars, what the fans need is something more substantial from the Dev Team, as to what they are addressing.
A good example is Planetary Annihilation on Kickstater.com; they promised to give the game certain elements after a certain monetary target was met.

You can see what they started with and what they promised with the funds coming through at each stage, I think this was just great, and really increased the buzz behind the game, and i think Prison Architect could benefit from this model as well.
Best

No offence but you only speak for yourself. Let the poll decide the rest.
I think it's a bit demanding to be asking for dates. However one thing I do like that other developers are doing are weekly/fortnightly diaries. Check this one out here from the Castle Story team: http://www.sauropodstudio.com/blog/
Keep in mind though, that the more this small team is addressing the community, the less time they are working on the game.

Maybe not "most" of the DEV community then...
Nobody is asking them to stick to their dates, but just to share what their current goals are...
Its clear that the kickstarters are generating more money because of their enticement to bring more features with more support,it's a marketing no-brainer hell and most of them dont even have a playable alpha yet.
Id rather this venture take full advantage of monetary investments, by offering enticements for set monetary goals met... than to run out of money and be forever stuck in alpha.
More Money = Better Product

+1
Dates don;t do anything but add pressure to the devs and spreads discontent among the plebs when dates are not met...which adds a PR nightmare to the full plate of the devs.
Pro tip: play other games while you wait...they did mention that they wanted to release the next version in a few weeks (as of a week and a half or so ago?)...so just be patient. And maybe use the search function or read dev posts before making a thread that already has an answer >.>

We are still incredibly busy manning our booth at the Eurogamer Expo. We hope you are enjoying the game!
We are aiming to release alpha2 within two to three weeks. We have several half finished features which will need further work before we can release them -so we thought we'd ask you what order you'd like to see features appear. So let us know!
- Note: Guard Deployment allows you to assign guards to all the areas of your prison from a single screen. They will patrol their assigned area.

Sure, as I said, they dont need to stick to their announced dates.
Currently we have hundreds of proposed ideas that people would like to see in the game,
What i think would be good, is if the DEV team, went through, with a comb, and let us know of the ones that are possible, what can be done soon, what can be done later. etc etc etc

It's taken us two weeks to catch up with support emails, and to help people out who'd paid but had problems with their downloads! That was our highest priority because it was totally unfair on them to keep them waiting.
But worry not! We aim to have the first new build (alpha2) and "Roadmap" blog up by the end of next week.

nice
All I ask is that when there are updates they're communicated in the best way (hopefully an autopatcher at some point).
As others have said, first people want dates, then people complain when the date isn't met or features aren't in and finally people starting raging and hating on the game and devs. IMO this is totally unhelpful to us and a distraction to the devs.
