More Grants

Prison-Architect - More Grants MOD

Hello fellow forum users! Today I present to you my newest Prison-Architect MOD! As of the latest Alpha release, Introversion have been very busy putting in new features into the game, such as Guard Deployment, Prisoner Tunnels and much more. From this they haven't had much time to develop new grants to put into the game, leaving the game rather short since without grants, you end up running out of money rather soon.

Because of this I have developed this MOD for Prison-Architect whereby it adds all new grants and triers of each grant, ranging from Standard, Enhanced, and Advanced. From this the player has a much longer play time per prison since you don't run out of money as quickly, and it increases the enjoyment factor due to more things having to be done! For a list of all of the grants, look below

6th October 2012 - V1.0
Version 1.0 of More Grants has been released, including many new grants. In the list of grants below.
Download Link for V1.0 is here: http://www.filedropper.com/moregrantsv10

7th October 2012 - V1.1
Once again I have updated the mod, I have spent all evening on it. Some new changes include, better descriptions on grant list, easier to understand 'To Do' List, and better optimisation of coding (It looks better so it's easier for me to read and change easily). I have also re-balanced some of the money that you get from the grants however I am still looking at changing some of them.
Link for V1.1 is here http://www.filedropper.com/moregrantsv11

Other Notes

As of release some of these mods may be overpowered in terms of how much money you get, please leave a comment to me here or by PM to tell me what you think should be changed. Another note is that I would advise against using all the grants at once since it goes off screen and a scroll bar on the to-do list has not been added yet. (It might take a little while for me to get back to you since I am active on many forums)

1. Do not change my MOD and call it your own.
2. If you are going to use it in a video, please put a link here for people to download it, and also mention me in the video
3. I am open for suggestions so please come and ask me anything to be included in this mod!

Installation Instructions

Installing the mod is very easy, all you need to do is extract the .zip file and get the data folder and place it in your game folder where the .exe is. When you launch your game it might take slightly longer to load, however the mod will be installed.

ENJOY!
(If you are unsure about anything that I haven't mentioned please PM me rather than just going ahead and doing it!)

I like these grant mods very much, not only do they give you money but set goals and makes the game more interesting IMO.

Concerning the amount of money, I think it's fine and rather it this way because editing the save file to add money is just cheating, unless you just want to build sandbox mode but I like things more realistic.

I support more grants keep em coming!

I'd respect that if I could identify what of this is your own work. I recognise 90% of this as being someone else's and the other 10% as copies with altered numbers.

3. I am open for suggestions so please come and ask me anything to be included in this mod!

Why does one of them require 3 accountants? Why would you ever need three accountants?

Why does the advanced admin require one more lawyer but one fewer office compared to the enhanced admin?

Why are so many objectives within a grant redundant? You need finance to get an accountant and you can't unlearn it, so you don't need both. Likewise, security and chief. Likewise, legal and lawyer. Likewise, cleaning and janitor.
It's meaningful to do it once to indicate how it's done, but only that once. You do it every single time one of those roles appears as an objective.

I have included the learning of the research each time because it makes it easier for the new player to understand. And it doesn't halm anyone with it saying it each time. And like I said the mod is still in early release so lots of the bug is still unbalanced.

I've got to go to college now so I can't answer all of your questions.

------------------------------------

EDIT: Right, I'm now at college, tonight I'm going to try and work on the MOD some more, I have a few more ideas for some grants, however I don't think that it will be out untill Tuesday night (9th October) due to me being very busy. I will try and add some of the changes that you have suggested and have V1.2 released.
For those who think that my MOD is somehow copied, can they please post a link the the MOD that they think that I copied so that I can have a look at it. Also I don't know how one can prove if they created the MOD, however I can provide some Data on how it is mine if you request it. Also in V1.2 I plan on re-writing some of the code so that it will be even easier for me to advance due to some ideas that I have had on the way to college.

Please let me know what else you want added into this MOD.

Well this is interesting, these grants that have standard enhance and advance where all made by me without inspiration so that just seems to be a coinsidence, and after looking at the code and numers on the cell block, they are very different.

Some of thesr things seem to be simular nd I'm sure t hat they are by chance, however I will work on the mod to make sure that mine is very different to the other ones. I hope no halm has been caused since my mod as not been copied. If you feel it has please send me a message and we can sort out what you believe is copied.

So can we just give me more suggestions on what to add, I have 4 ideas in my head that Im going to work on tonight

For what it's worth, nobody explicitly cared about credit to the extent that it has to be written in triplicate that 'x did this' and 'y did that' until you demanded ownership of something that wasn't original. At the end of the day, the concept of grants was written by Chris and as such Introversion is the only one who really gets credit, the fact that you were the first one to compile a collection of grants and change the wording of the requirements is circumstantial.

Either way - mentioning that other people had some input into a community based mod is always friendly and just generally nice.

Very much this. MOD Grants 1.3 contains everything everyone did* up until last Friday and has the right attribution and everyone involved seems to be cool with it.

We know you didn't write it all yourself. There's three distinct writing styles in the comments for the custom grants. One guy always starts with "Contract:", one writes a 3 - 5 word summary, the last just wrote the name of the grant. Stop pretending and we'll be cool and a happy family and stuff.

* Except for my grant. Elitist bastards, wanting grants that make sense and don't exist to make you start the game from scratch and bring everything to a halt until you've done it. What's wrong with making you fit a yard, an office, a holding cell, a workshop and a cell in space only just big enough to hold one of them? Jerks, the lot of you! I spent a good 30 minutes making that and checking it was all possible! 30 minutes I could have spent playing Pokémon Conquest! Coming up with a succinct way of stopping all cheating took longer! I could have been grinding for another guy's legendary or something in that time! And what was my thanks? Nothing! Not even a "That's fucking stupid" or a "How the fuck do you do this?" or a "Couldn't you at least have made something possible" that I could have smugly laughed at or an "Oh wow! You fit twenty obscenely complex objectives into thirty-six lines of code! That's really efficient!" that I could have just been plain old smug about! Well, screw you! I'm going to make a campaign and it's going to be awesome and I'll put it up and you'll all test it for me like fools. And when I have a stable build, I just won't share it and only I will have the working version! You'll be all like "Awwwww, but this version of it sucks and stuff and it doesn't work and I don't feel like tidying up someone else's shit" and I'll be all like "Lalalalala, best fan-made campaign ever and it's all mine!" HahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I really don't want to offend any of you, so I don't understand why you are trying to do it to me. I am 90% that most of you don't know how to make one of these mods, you just like to sound like you can and be an **** to other members of the community because they can't touch you in real life. I have done more than just edit the file and claim it as my own, yes I have taken inspiration from other mods but I have NOT copied them.

If you don't like my mod just DON'T POST here, and leave it alone, all that you are doing is attracting attention to it. Deal with it, someone is better than you, get over it and stop attacking other members of the community.

Take a look for another point of view.

You ask:
Josh_Boyd wrote:1. Do not change my MOD and call it your own.
But others feel that this is intrinsic in the mods that they have created, and that you are acting hypocritically by asking others not to copy your work as their own while appearing to copy their work as your own.

Try not to step on any more toes and I'm sure you can continue to have fun and create mods! :D

I am just making sure that nobody does, it's just a standard thing that I do at the end of all of my work/posts, I'm sorry if the phrase that I have used hundreds of times a year has somehow offended you people, I study media production, it's just a natural instinct.
