[Bug] Lack of materials for job, they are in delivery area

Postby whitecrash7 » Fri Oct 05, 2012 3:00 pm

My workers stopped completing any of the initial jobs like finishing wiring or the walls of my new prison due to a lack of materials when everything they needed was in the delivery area. Later jobs after that were able to be completed fine.

What I've figured out here is that either a worker is stuck and you have to fire him or you have already fired the worker and the jobs he had doesn't get rescheduled.
Dismantle the materials, and it will sort itself out

Thanks for the reply Andersen, would manually right clicking another worker to the job make them do it? Could this issue be easily fixed by allowing any worker to do any uncompleted job?

Manually moving a worker to the square would just make them walk there, not assign the task to them.

Having a worker actually looking for jobs that he could do would be going against standard working practice, surely? :P

Reloading should fix it, see my massive issues with this. http://forums.introversion.co.uk/prisonarchitect/viewtopic.php?t=680
May be distance/pathing related, was the job far away from the items.

My save, didn't fix even by deleting tasks then rescheduling (are the distances similar) but the reload does.

I have also been having this problem. It occurs in nearly every game I play, and for some reason seems to happen most often with office supplies (filing cabinet, chair, desk) and utility lines. The workers will consistently build a few of them but not the rest.
