Corridor lights not working...

Postby crummett » Fri Sep 28, 2012 9:19 pm

The lights you can manually build seem to be different to those that are put into rooms by workers? The manual ones are the stalk type but dont seem to make any difference...

If you put lights indoors they should be the tiny yellow "sun" style light - those require power cables in the vicinity or they won't turn on.

Outdoor lights (the "tall stalk" ones) don't require power (yet) and only light up during nighttime - they don't turn on due to daytime "shadow" darkness.

Lights also seem to have trouble lighting north and south in narrow corridors - their "radius" doesn't work there.

ahh. I see. realised what i've done. I've basically ended up with buildings where the corridors are techically "outside" haha. I guess if I just build a foundation where the corridor is itll then be inside.

i like how the shadow of the building slowly tilts too, nice touch

Yeah the game has an... interesting view on what is considered inside and outside. If you want long indoor corridors, you'll have to plan around it and build foundations and then build each "building" next to it and place two doors to make it work - then replace and add walls where needed and remove the superflous door.

how irritating (though only till they change it :). I guess you can add the extra door on the same wall as the one that was originally meant to lead to it... I think?
