I'd love it if the zoom/unzoom function would not be centered on the center of the screen, but instead on the cursor (like in Supcom for exemple). This way there's almost no need for scrolling. Feels very natural once you get used to it. If possible, at least make it an option.

Thanks!

For some reason it actually felt natural to me the way it is currently. I think a lot of the old top-down strategy games I played had this method of scrolling/zooming. Zoom to cursor seems to be more prevalent with 3d games.

Either way if it's going to be changed I think it's worth having a preference to keep it the way it currently is.

It may be a personal preference indeed, but after supcom I can't go back to scrolling... zoom out - zoom in is so much faster/easier!

+1 to this feature, I think ideally it should be a toggle (Sins of a Solar Empire has this). So that way, people who don't like zoom-to-cursor can still play without it.

I agree, first thing I thought about during the introduction!

Completely agree. Using the middle mouse button and WASD is a bit too slow if you ask me.

I tweeted about this to IVSoftware before remembering there was a whole forum for feedback :P

I agree with the suggestion of zooming to cursor location. It's even the main reason I registered here to give feedback... :)

Agreed. That will make the zoom function far more useful, as you can zoom out, point to your point of interest and zoom back in. No need for WASD there.
Actually that would remove the necessity for keyboard usage at all (though it's good to have that option).

While we're at it, can we just implement the whole Upsubdefwinia UI? Zoom to cursor, space to deselect, number keys for time control, shift for fast scrolling, &c? Please? I've been trained to expect that UI in the previous IV games, and now pressing space pauses the game! Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!

I beieve that a good bit of that can be achieved once bindable keys are introduced into the game. My kingdom for a config file...
