[Suggestion] Manually adjust priorities

Postby 5B7f9A1XQioOmbpz » Sat Apr 09, 2016 12:26 pm

After suffering a few overdose deaths in my prison, with plenty of guards either just idling or dealing with less important issues it occurred to me it might be a good feature to have people be able to manually adjust job queue priorities. Some things are decidedly more important to deal with than other things are but we each might feel differently about which exact things those are, given the different approaches individual players have of building a prison.

i was hoping something like that to be implemented in update 6, they added priorities to buildings (really great in some instance) but you cannot prioritize stuff like cooking, healing people and so on.

i still have the same problem with mi canteens, everything was fine until i added the 5th kitchen.
now in the 4th one the cooks just stay idle and no one gets food, i have to manually ask other kitchen to take care of it, but they cannot keep up in time with so many orders (600+ prisoners divided into 5 canteen).

if i deselect the kitchen from the logistic menu, the cooks start cooking a new batch than idle again and again.

i read that it's a common problem if you have lots of inmates and different kitchen, and still no one has figured out a solution.

This whole priorities system was a fantastic thing to include, however it's only 10% of what this feature could touch. I also can't prioritise certain actions like dumping rubble or moving a prisoner to solitary even though in the video they said "everything". I get the feeling that their ideas and their testing is rushed/half-baked sometimes.

But yes some sort of way to prioritise and fine-grain-control more things in the game would certainly be great. I completely agree with you. Even this priorities system isn't perfect; if a worker is constructing something urgent, then I make something else urgent, he might stop what he was going, walk around a bit, and then go back to the original urgent task... why did he not just continue considering "urgent" is "urgent", if you see what I mean?
