windows 10 update problem

Inevitably, the latest W10 update is causing problems, game now crashes as far as i can tell exactly 4 minutes into a game, anyone have any ideas :?:

Running fine on Windows 10 here...
Please post a debug log so we can take a look at what's wrong.

Widows tells me nothing, just that it's searching for a solution and then closes the game

Sounds like a memory leak is happening with your current save..
-Try running a new prison and see if that stops your crashes..If it does, then ditch the save giving problems(!)

(Also running on Windows 10 with zero issues..)

checked a few other saves, and it is only 2 that have the problem. I think that they were both made in a grey area mid update. for a while a few windows aspects were a little hinky, no autohidetaskbar etc, they're all fine now. Thanks for your help, does look like a corrupt save. :oops:

Glad that helped!
-Be sure to have multiple save-games of the same place, I usually use 2-3 and alternate saving between them. Can be helpful around next patch time!

ps. I think it is caused by objects in weird (corrupt?) locations on the map. I've only experienced this while saving tests with some problematic test-mods of mine... :mrgreen:

it seemed to happen on discovery of a tunnel, but i am getting several random cells that go red (not allowing searches or placement of objects). these change over a few game hours :roll:

If there's a gang member living in those, they prevent you from doing anything in their cell, that's intended behavior.

that i didn't know, explains a lot. i knew they didn't work, but didn't realise you couldn't upgrade their cells. wonder why they would turn down a new tv and a set of weights

plus, if you can't search their cells, makes finding a tunnel hard :cry:
