Cannot load savegames

The loading screen shows me the path /home/allo/.Prison Architect/saves/, when i open it it contains the .campaign and .png files for the saved game and the autosave, but the loading screen does not display anything to load.
How do i continue the saved game? Any bugfixes or workarounds welcome.

Version: 1.0 release, downloaded from introversion software (not steam).

The menu has the options to "Load Prison" and to "Load Campaign". Make sure you're using the correct one: Load Campaign obviously is only for your saves in campaign mode, while Load Prison is for your saves in the sandbox mode. The saves will not appear in the list of the other load menu.
