Help needed with a very badass legendary

I have a bunch of legendaries by now in my ~600 inmates prison.

All of them are in a special area of the prison in permanent lockdown, in "luxury" cells (bed, toiled, shower, tv, phone,etc) and yet... One very specific fella is IMPOSSIBLE to control.

One time I had 4 guards beating him (as tazers failed) when an armed guard walked in, got disarmed and shot (along with 2 other guards). One time I had so many guards inside the cell beating the hell out of him, that he got "pushed" into the wall, from where he proceeded to the corridors I have between cell blocks and on a straight route to the prison exit gates. He was only stopped by 10+ guards I rerouted there, who finally managed to get him tazed/unconscious.

I removed the armed guards and now I have "just" 8 normal guards patrolling a wing with just 10 cells.

I've been considering creating a whole separate wing of the prison just for him, where he can have freetime, yard time and all needs tended to VERY FAR AWAY FROM OTHER PRISONERS (as he is, btw, ex-prison guard).

Any other ideas?

I assume its a Legendary with the "Extremely Volatile" attribute.
Make sure there are no instigators around to make him angry and he should be fine.

Those two types don't mix well.

Unless you're devious like me. I had an extremely quick one knock over a guard, steal a shotgun from the armory and bolt for the exit before I could even deploy more guards.

He is on permanent lockdown and has no instigators on cells close to him. D:

Inmates should be auto-changed to Death Row once they score their 4th kill or something. That guy has about 8 or 10 kills now.

This weekend I had a huge riot with 140+ prisoners, I took all guards from the supermax and routed them to the canteen where a bloodbath was taking place.
With very little help from 2 MaxSec who got into the SuperMax/Protective Custody wing, that !@#!@#!@#! BUSTED OUT OF HIS CELL AND BROKE 3 SOLITARY DOORS while I wasn't looking. By pure luck Protective custody still had its guards because of constant fighting during shower time, and that gave me time to respond before they killed everyone (3 PC inmates hurt, 1 dead, 3 guards down).

I should record my next game session and show it to you.

yeah, i got one of those Legendary prisoners too, he shares an almost empty 10 cell block with only 1 other volatile who cant keep a lid on his aggression.
Every so often he totally loses his behavior. ....

Hopefully the therapist knows how to convince the guy to keep his aggression verbally ... as a first stage phase.

I'm about to try a new regime (when I feel like dealing with the headache that IS Max/SuperMax prisoners)... Something like a quickly repeated regime to fill needs. I noted once the higher sec prisoners jump their needs; like ++++ at a time. When the bar fills to max in about 2-3 hours, they pop.

I have not yet thought it through, but cooks will start making a meal 4 hours before the eat time. With the isolated supermax canteen, I am thinking something like maybe.. Eat, Freetime, Freetime, Work, Eat. It'd be nice to get them employed; so maybe I do 3xwork, then a 2x work, and 1xwork last. I'd have to be in-game to see how it all sums together.

If you put them to work, that means you will have dead teachers, dead foreman.
If you let them out of their cells, those super-volatiles will get close to one instigator at some point.

And at the same time... If you don't, their freedom/clothing needs will always be high.

BTW, do lower secs service laundry to cells/areas with other security zoning? Perhaps I am just being incompetent on this need. haha

He didn't kill anyone yesterday, 5 guards beating and shooting tazers at him at the same time, twice a day, is doing the trick.

I'm bored with my current 550+ max sec prison now. I just found a mod that makes all prisoners on intake into legendaries. I'm going to try that and see if I can keep a lid on things. :)

The horror.. Do try! I am getting tired with med sec, but haven't best mastered max. But I'll be attempting it in a new tactic soon. An idea just came to mind to do it.

Lol... that's exactly what happened. I used this mod as a starting point:

Tweaked it a bit so that the only change was the Legendary chances were 99%. I wanted the same type of Legendaries as vanilla, not super-Legendaries with all traits maxed, but I wanted all prisoners to be Legendaries. I then took my nice happy working max-sec prison, erased all prisoners, and fired up this mod. Got past about 3 days and 100 prisoners until they rioted and killed... everybody. I did indeed end up as a prisoner. Did you know that if the National Guard is called while you are a prisoner, the soldiers never arrive? I was hoping they would come and put me out of my misery, but nope.

you should try making multiple unconnected facilities and micro-manage your prisoners between the facilities.
check on addictions, moods etc as well... its lots of extra work with lots of pauzing the game, just the check and sort prisoners.

although, a complete fresh batch of prisoners means none have had any addiction or behavioral treatment .... those first few days are the worst moments with that anyway.

Disabled failure conditions FTW. I tried to do without armed guards for a while, but no dice. With 50 of them I think I may have a chance... if I redesign the prison to allow for extreme sorting and micromanagement, it might be possible without armed guards and the suppression, but I'm too lazy for that now.

another option is:

build canteen with all needs
build holding pen with enough beds and some needs

make regime:
11 pm - 9am: Freetime
after that: alternate eat / freetime every 2 hours
... or ... add 3 work hours somewhere
add enough guards for holding pen and canteen. ... maybe 5 each (10 total) might work.

ofc, make sure canteen is very large. Not just roomy enough to fit the exact amount of items. Keep 2 tiles distance between tables / items etc.
pews / phones / weights / shower & toilets in 2+ corners / etc.

Holding pen with this regime should (probably) work. .... ofc, only tested to worked for 120 max sec prisoners. ... not Legendaries of the worst kind.

Last night I tried letting them loose during night time. Just freetime+lunch+freetime outside their cells.
=
1 cooks killed (in the short time between kitchen - food trays).
1 supermax killed.
5+injured prisoners, ~10 injured guards

Back to permanent lockdown.
I have 18 Supermax, out of which ~6 are legendaries (the rest are instigators, volatiles+something else or deadly+something else in perma lockdown).
They are divided into 3 corridors with 8 Luxury Cells (phone, tv, etc.) each. 3 normal Guards assigned to each corridor + 6 patrolling the 3 corridors. No armed guards.

During a small riot in the MaxSec freetime, some SuperMax prisoners tried to bust again into the Protective Custody wing, but besides that I had no major incidents since.
Between a Supermax prisoner and the PC wing we have 1 Solitary Door on the cell itself, 1SD on the end of the corridor, 2SD in the PC wing entrance (4SDs total) - they broke 3/4 before becoming unsconscious from the beatings.

If it was me I'd just let the wacko escape. Rather one escape than multiple deaths. If you're lucky he'll be caught again, retried for his crimes and given the death penalty. Bzzzzzz. :twisted:
