player challenge 6: Programs

Postby Threehorns » Thu Apr 09, 2015 10:51 pm

Hi all,

Here you go, a new challenge. You do not need to create a new prison from scratch so its easy enough.

The challenge:
During work hours, prisoners can follow several programs, besides just working.
Have a look at your finest prison's program and open the edit program schedule.
Try to figure out if the programs are scheduled to your liking.

Feel free to leave comments on what you discovered, or about your prefered time table settings.
-Example: I reschedule both Workshop programs to a small workshop, while leaving the large workshops for the prisoners to work.

Cheers!

I figured my inmates wouldn't get to class in time and would have lower chances of success because of that.
I rescheduled the most important classes to 1h after the work time starts, so everyone would have enough time to get there (and it helped a lot).

Mine is halfway setup like that. I have a parole room for just the DR inmates (everybodys at 0% cuz I cant run an execution til the patch, but yet they still go lol) and my classes happen before the workshop stuff.

The problem I run into is that the game doesn't explicitly state what programs can run outside the "work regime" so I have to trial and error it...

xlr, you need to place 10 chairs in your execution room. Its an unlisted and unchecked room requirement, .... but it still checks if the puppets are seated.
I have not executed anyone, so not sure if it works, but afaik .... it should.

No kidding.... hmm... *looks*

I have 12.

No I was referring to the 99% bug where somebody at bedtime is still reading a book somewhere at lockdown.

well, its terribly bugged atm .... but it works ... if (big IF):
- you add chairs (8 seems to be enough after my try)
- make sure the spiritual guide is on the same piece of land extension. or something of the kind. I added piece north, extending the road.
- remove library room attribute ... funny how books suddenly are important (yeah, had the same thing as you had) and re-apply library afterwards.
- change regime to make sure everyone is locked up already, followed by a 2nd change to avoid massive rioting and a 3rd to change it back to Original.
- change policy so no one is in solitary because of ... whatever reason and than change it back afterwards

ah well ...
it is editing a program schedule in itself. ... to pretend we're still on topic.

but in the end, poor 19 y/o Wyatt got to be a succesful lab-rat

When you say remove the library room attrib, you mean to dezone the room itself, right? Does that automagically make all books in the inmates' possession disappear?

yes, de-zone.
no idea, but it worked for me.

My prisoners suddenly remembered they needed to return books to the library.
And every second counts with the execution .... 1 execution vs 11 dead prisoners and worse, because 3 prisoners decided they needed to visit the library just than and there.

with the things I did as per my previous post, I still ended up with 1 dead prisoner, but otherwise, I managed to hold off a riot.
gave them free time the rest of the day.

Was actualy thinking of placing the Warden and Chief next to the deathrow facility so the walk would be shorter
... I already rebuild the facility to be next to the spawning point of the spiritual guide.

Yeah dezoning worked for me. I only ever reached 1 arrow of heat. Complete 180 from my other execution.

10.000 income from that

somehow its not quite the same as prisoners making beds for 700 profit per bed. ah well.
