Body armor. Yes or no?

Postby martinuzz » Sat Feb 14, 2015 3:07 pm

What is the general concensus? Is the extra protection worth the slowdown?

Personally, I would really like it if we could designate guards to deifferent security levels and equip them appropriatly. At the moment I am trying to go without body armor, and see how it goes. The guards are noticeably faster than my armored up guards in my previous prison. I seem to be able to get away with less guards to fill my roster too. I suppose getting to a staff room faster when they need to rest helps there.

So sad that one of the grants requires body armor.

I could be mistaken, but it looks like that after you have researched body armor, every new guard you hire will come equipped with it -even if you don't have an armoury- .

If that was not the case, I'd be able to get the max sec grant, then destroy the armoury, and revert to unarmored guards :P

There should be a second research for lightweight materials. So you keep the armour and recoup some speed.

But yeah I agree that seeing as we pay for each.guards armour and tazers we should be able to choose who gets them.
