Training Programs

Postby Duncandonut » Sun Feb 01, 2015 3:13 pm

Hi all,

Am playing Alpha 29 and am having some issues with training prisoners. Firstly is the issue with actually getting people to attend classes. I know this can be affected by being suppressed etc... and I am trying to make sure that my policies don't upset prisoners too much. However, even with a relaxed policy I am not able to get many prisoners into programs.

The other issue I am having is the pass rate of classes. It is abysmal. The failure rate from learning anything is so bad that I only have one prisoner capable of making beds and have a library that is not in use. Here is a screen shot of my programs page.

They really need to up the success rate of programs, especially as some of these programs are 10-20 sessions long.

Same here, no interest at all in any education programs. It's frustrating, as I'd like to get the workshop and library up and running, and get some prisoners helping in the kitchens.

My personal experience on the prison I'm playing with:
day 334 (at work time)
prisoners: 288/303 - released: 1151 - deaths/escapes: 36
supressed: 45 (did some cell searches early on)
3 class rooms (1 of them only for max sec, my general pop is medium sec)
Foundation Ed. Prog.: 547 finished / 249 passed (45%) --> running 4 different schedules
General Ed. Qual.: 58 finished / 17 passed (29%) --> running 1 schedule

Having no issues filling job slots in libraries, in fact all job slots are filled (and workshops work fine too). It may be the case that your prisoner count is too low to give you decent odds. Tweaking schedules regularly to meet demands might also be a good idea.
