(CLOSED) Moding Help (Not too complicated)

Postby AR19Elite » Sun Aug 10, 2014 6:51 pm

I would like to know from an experienced moder how to set up a mod of my own where I can change the textures of objects, sprites, guards, vehicles, etc. I took a mod someone else made and changed the textures in said mod, but I would like to make my own instead of leaching off someone else.

# let me know if you need me to clarify anything. Thanks

I'm quite stuck where the guide says:

"Using a tool such as WinRar or 7-zip, extract the contents of the 'main.dat' file, found in your 'prison architect' folder, to the same directory. You will now have a 'data' folder."

I don't know which program to use to view the .dat file, and I'm not sure how to extract the contents. I have WinRaw. I thought if I right click I'd have the option to extract, but I don't. I've been playing with it for a bit, but I'm still stuck
