Day 5. No food, no shower, no beds. And it works?

Postby Ax1007 » Fri Oct 04, 2013 9:27 am

So I decided to test something. Prisoners dont die with no food or when they lack anything. So what if I just got close to 1 guard for every prisoner and forced them to work 24/7 in big workshop rooms to make me money.

With one full workshop room with 8 presses and 8 saws and 20 prisoners I make nearly $24,000 each day. With that amount of income I can safely have nearly 3 gaurds and a dedicated workman for every prisoner and still have enough to pay everything else and expand.

The game probably isnt intended to be played this way is it? This isnt a bug, more just a humorous aside I thought I would share :)

Take a look

If you can get a graphic mod to exchange all walls with flames and give the floor a nice red tough you have finished one version of hell I think :D

Well aside from the food and sleep aspects, I'd say the game probably could be played this way. The consensus seems to be that IV intends the player to have the ability to run left-wing (low guard count, all needs met country club) and right-wing (high guard count, all work and no play, control via punishment) prisons and anything in between. You've opted for the extreme latter in this example, and why should it not work? As you said, you can afford a huge amount of guards and use punishments to keep everyone in line.

As I mentioned above, the food and sleep models need to be expanded beyond just making prisoners angry, since a 24/7 work situation should not be sustainable in my opinion.

I tried this and fights do happen periodically, the thing is that prisoner gets beaten senseless in less than a second so it doesn't impede the profit of your prison much as another prisoner just takes his place.
