Extremely aggressive inmates

Postby [NoiseX] » Fri Aug 30, 2013 10:49 pm

Hi
I'm new of this game and I've built my first prison. The problem is that the inmates keep attacking things and guards from the beginning, even if they entered in a perfectly functioning building.

Is there something wrong?

In your reports, have a look at your needs tab. That will tell you what's wrong.

I don't have the psychologist, and anyway they started rioting immediately.

I believe the needs have been tweeked a little, ive noticed more fights to start with.

Before they had no needs when you started the game, now they start wanting something.

It's odd that they would start making trouble immediately: that's reserved for when your prison isn't secure, but I can't see any gaps in your fence and your Yard seems to think it's secure as well. Have you expanded the fence or walls since you took the prisoners in? Either that, or they didn't like the sequence those large jail doors at the east opened in. Oddly enough, if they're locked open (with perhaps a staff door at the end) you should never have that problem.

Other than that: you desperately need a larger kitchen and canteen, and your drains in your shower are useless. Put one in the same square the door is placed on and remove the others.

Get a psychologist, it's not that hard or expensive.

It makes sense that prisoners have needs on arrival, you know. Think about it.

Some unrelated things about your prison:

-I highly suggest placing metal detectors at the canteen entrance, that way all prisoners pass through them

-You need a wall around your perimeter, preferably a perimeter wall. A fence isn't enough, prisoners will tunnel through without a problem.

-The drains only block water, they don't absorb it. Place them in the doorway of the shower, not in the shower.

-Fence your delivery area before you have any prisoners doing work. Prisoners walk into deliveries to pick stuff up.

-For later games, a building isn't required for storage. A fenced outdoor area will save money.

-Place weights benches and phones in the yard or you'll have high exercise/family needs

-Place TVs and Pool tables anywhere, (can be in a common room or the yard), or you'll have a high recreation need
