If you're at all the type to mess around with source files (or you just read the forums around the time A10 came out) you've probably stumbled upon this dude:

Ever since I found this while thumbing through main.dat a little while ago this dude struck me in a strange way. And a couple of minutes ago it finally hit me:
Image
This dude, right here. Former Congressional Representative Allen West of Florida, elected during the Tea Party push in 2010, subsequently put on a bus and sent back down in 2012. Former military officer, having decided to take a 20-year retirement after investigations into the detention and beating of an Iraqi police offer by West and his men, during which West discharged his sidearm next to the officer's head. Wears glasses in pretty much every other photo of him on the face of the Earth. Severely right-wing, to say the least.

So how 'bout it, devs? Did you do an inspiration search of "right-wing" and find yourselves stricken by him? Or is he really just that infamous that he permeates geopolitical boundries as a figure of authoritarian conservatism?

EDIT: VVVVV Hmm, that's a fair cop as well, though West seems to have more of a news/cultural presence than Powell has in recent years.

Dude, it's obviously Colin Powell's likeness.

No, seriously, I really do think it looks more like Powell. He was both the first black military man I thought of, and then the face really calls him up too.

Wait, really? As daft a bastard I'll admit to being at regular inftervals, I don't think that particular factor played into this particular bit of bad judgement. v:(v West just seems a logical assumption of a possible nod/parody/pastiche based on his relatively fresh presence in the US political psyche and the term "right-wing" seeming a more apt descriptor of his political tendencies.

No, not really... was just making a bit of a half-arsed joke.

I still stand by my assertion that he looks like Colin Powell, even though Colin doesn't have a widow's peak.
