Prison Yard and Recreation Rooms

Anyone have advice on how to meet the recreation needs of the prisoners? My prisoners never seem to use the phones, pool tables, and exercise equipment I put out in the common areas.

1. Try to put all of the things in a common room so they are in close proximity to one another.
2. Make sure you have free time in the regime.
3. Check the needs tab to see if they actually need to use those things.
4. Add more free time in the regime because they will prioritize other activities over recreation.

why use 'common areas' ?

You don't need to use "common areas", but you can.

You can fill yard, canteen, etc. with phones, televisions, toilets, etc. or you can have it all on common area. Right now there isn't a need on that, it's our choice.

Is your common area actually zoned as a common room? They won't use stuff that isn't in a room, no matter how helpful it is. They also need free time to use it.

I've never used common rooms as I thought they were not implemented properly yet. Pool tables seem to work ok it's too space consuming imo.

I personally use a large yard with almost all things they need to satisfy their needs. Great for a few hours before work to get them satisfied before blasting out plates for the next 8hours

common areas are useless, put it on yard area ...and make sure yard is closer to cell for easy access

I've never had trouble with my common rooms. Do so many people really experience prisoners refusing to use the facilities there?

I always build them too. Placed near the Yard. Sure, u can place TV and Pool elsewhere, but i dont feel well when Putting in other Areas especially in the Yard.
Like it to have my Common Room for that. Maybe they put later Rain in the Game, so u must put it inside and making real use of the Common Room.
For the Moment is more like a beauty thing to have it. And in the Free Time they use it how much they need, so no Problems with.
