I am a an ex prison guard at nirrum prison. Its not a very large prison however, I can assure you nirrum prison is not without incident.... The tale I am about to tell you has left me emotionally scarred for life, and I hope that my words I am about to impart to you will in some way prevent this tragic set of circumstances ever happening again!
It all started one bright morning, like every other, I was assigned front gate duty, which entails letting visitors into visitation and generally opening the gate to all who wander my way, unless they are wearing orange of course
Anyway, I had just let in two lovely families into visitation and shortly after their respective inmates, when out of the blue a fight breaks out in the main block and I am called to assist. The fight is pretty nasty, a garden rake is involved, how he hid that I shudder to think...
This disturbance in the main block is eventually quelled and I turn my attention once more to the main gate. BUT WAIT!! what is this? Blood has seeped out of the visitation door into the exit corridor!!! OMG!! WTFBBQSAUCE!!!
I dash into visitation and stubble upon a scene of utter carnage! The visitors are splayed across the destroyed visitation tables and covered in claret. The two prisoners are cutting chunks out of each other in a knife fight in the far corner. They see me and make a dash for the door, thankfully my colleagues arrive just in time manage to shackle the beasts!
I turn my attention to the victims and to my utter horror and recurring flashback nightmare I see a small child has been butchered by one or both of the prisoners.....sick bastards!
Excuse my language. The prison psychiatrist says its good to vent my anger....
However, what followed this tragic, tragic turn of events is what really twists my gut, and eventually led me to leave the prison service. I picked up the poor child, I never knew his name, his badge simply said visitor, I like to call him Johnny. I carried wee little Johnny across the yard and in to the morgue, I placed his lifeless corpse on a slab and holding back the tears I turned to leave. But WAIT again! Johnny is slipping off the slab! His little body is not designed to stay on it, oh the irony, he was just not meant to die here. No matter the Hearse has arrived already. I pick up little Johnny and carry him the long silent walk to the Hearse. I place him gently into the Hearse and watch it slowly pull away.
BUT WAIT again again!! Johnny's poor twisted mutilated little body slips off the back of the Hearse and flops into the road! The coroner didn't even stop! I quickly scooped up poor Johnny and returned him once more to the morgue, only to see him slowly slip from the slab once more. The Hearse returned.......
Can you see the gates of hell opening in front of me? For two weeks I carried Johnny, back and forth, back and forth.
I snapped, I'm not proud about it, but here we are, I just threw in the towel and left smelly rotting Johnny in the road. I start a new job today as a bin man, I hope my route doesn't pass the prison!!
