some questions about security

Postby erikjuh » Wed Apr 10, 2013 12:53 am

So i just bought Prison Architect on Steam. Absolutely a great game so far. After playing the game for a while i was interested in visiting the wiki. Turns out i have to register on this forum and enter my alpha key to be able to access the wiki. Fair enough. Here come the questions:

1. Why is my password emailed to me in plain text? That is absolutely NOT SECURE and it means my password is now stored in plain text in multiple locations.
2. Is my password stored on your servers in a secure manner?
3. When i log in to the wiki, i need to supply my username and password. This is submitted PLAIN TEXT and UNENCRYPTED, according to the warning my browser shows me. Again, not very secure. It might be a good idea to make this secure. Any plans on doing that soon?
4. Will i be able to change my password in a secure manner?

Boy am i glad i chose a unique password for this forum (as anyone shoud do for every different login). But i'm sure a lot of people will use the same username and password everywhere .
