What do you think age rating for game should be?

Hi Everyone,

Just thinking,after all the good ideas that i've seen posted on how to improve the game and how it should progress and how cool they sound,
i thought what will be the age rating on final release? i'm guessing being about building a prison maybe 15+? What do you guys think?

This honestly cannot be answered, there's no way to tell what the rating will be because we don't know what will be implemented. Are we going to have situations dealing with sexual abuse or is it going to be a bit lighter than that? At the very least t will be rated T for teen due to blood and violencce but anything specific is immposible to know.

Probably T, because of the blood and the semi-nudity of the cutscenes. Who actually cares would be a better question. As a self published, self distributed game there's no reason to waste money getting a true PEGI or ESRB rating as it's only to get distributed by companies that are unwilling to sell it otherwise.

What they said; It almost certainly needs to be judged by a storyline that isn't there yet and without a retail/console release, it's not required.

Still, I'd guess it currently stands at 15+, because explicit sex scene.

I agree with that, my post was just to get the feel of what other people thoughts were, i'm well over 30 years old so this does not concern me too much, but depending on the market PA is going to be aimed at will decide on its content, if its going to be a T for teen then a lot of ideas that should be in the game will be left out.

The thing is, I doubt IV cares about the rating so long as countries don't ban it. I think they're just going to add whatever features they deem fit to make it a fun game.

i belive it should be a PG 13 as it is just a simulation/tycoon building game with very few nudity scenes and violence/Gore is shown but not shown as bad as most 15+ rated games.

I am going to assume Introversion will use the PEGI rating system. In which case, I will also assume they will receive a rating of PEGI 16 due to the drug references.

If using the ESRB, they'll likely receive a Mature 17+ rating due to realistic portrayals of violence, excessive blood and drug references.

I'd say a 15, first saw the game when my 10 year old nephew was playing it, I started reading the prisoners bio's. And had to explain what dogging was.

For me make it 18+ plz and add more mature subject matter like;

more drugs, more intimidation/sexual violence and realistic race-based-gangs.. Some depression and suicides won't be out of place either(!)

You gotta think about this though a lot of prison architect players right now are not 18+ if out of the blue they made it an adult game they would lose half of their customers
