Age of players

Postby crummett » Wed Oct 17, 2012 4:48 pm

Just a general wondering about how old you guys playing this are? A lot seem to hark back to the glory days of Theme Hospital etc which I think is a major reason behind some peoples excitement behind this game, at least in my case it is.

your age ranges make me feel old.

I do indeed get a Theme Hospital sort of vibe from the game now that you mention it. The two are quite similar.

haha sorry. I didn't want to have an endless list :).

For me it is extremely similar to Theme Hospital/Park and thats why I love it. it's as fun as those games but with more thought going into the mechanics and details.

I'm 25, I remember getting Theme Hospital as my first Playstation game back in either 97 or 98. I've been a fan of that game ever since and I suppose it probably was that PA reminded me of it initially that got me excited for it.

I've played Theme Hospital quite a lot too when I was younger, but I think Prison Architect has the potential to be even better and more fun than TH. Time will tell.

You damned young'uns, don't even know you're born.

I'm 26.

The things I remember from Theme Hospital don't really come up in Prison Architect. I remember "If I put this here, what else will fit in the remaining space?" where in Prison Architect running out of space is just a cue to lay more foundations. I remember going through all the applicants in an (occasionally vain) attempt to find someone that wasn't a useless, underqualified sack of shit and going through the staff trying to keep them from worming their way into a state of being grossly overpaid. No one staff member is distinguishable from any other of its type in Prison Architect.

I also remember repairing machines constantly, even if they'd only been used once or twice. Fucking earthquakes. I can live without that one, all things considered.

haha ah yeah I remember the staffing! They all looked identical except maybe a sliiiight change but some would be arrogant lazy gits while others were practically saints! I'd quite like that in PA actually.

Nothing will ever be quite as panic driven as having 8 bloated heads coming in via air ambulance and not being ready haha

Your dam age rank makes me feel so young. I'm only 13, I always loved simulation games and I looked at this game and instantly loved it.

We're comparing Prison Architect to a game that came out before you were even born and the poll makes you feel young? :P

I knew I wasn't the oldest (31) but still interesting to see more people within my age range.
