I must confess..

Postby John845 » Fri Sep 28, 2012 10:53 pm

... I torrented this game, but I will be buying this asap! This game is amazing. Has potential to be one of the best simulation/tycoon games ever made.

The whole intro and the little storyline of the school teacher who murdered his wife was just brilliant. I loved how you guys handled that, kept it with a serious tone and I loved the little pop up drawings showing the storyline. There is SO MUCH potential for this, showing inmates stories through this method.

Not only that, but I simply love the game play on this. Its just enjoyable simply watching your workers building things and then managing the whole thing once its constructed and the prisoners arrive. Also I love the music and all the sound effects, really adds so much to the game.

I can't wait to see how this game fleshes out and you have my $30 pledge as soon as I have the opportunity to, I promise.

Great work!

Yes..

$30 seemed daunting for an indie alpha release.. but as soon as I started playing this I saw that it is worth the $. Forgive me for having lost faith in you Introversion.. never again.

Perfectly in keeping with Chris's view that people who torrent are just people yet to be convinced to pay for it.

I completly agree with you. I torrented it too, and first thing tomorrow morning (It's 1am here now) I will be paying the 30$, Although I still think it's a bit too much.

Torrented because of no convenient options to buy. Waiting for Steam sale.

Imo $30 price is too high, especially in comparison to Dishonored title which costs only $10 more.

Yes, it is. Paypal works with restrictions in Russia, making possible to use it only while paying interest to one of local banks (which I have no wish to do). And the whole process is not very quick.

Let's not forget that all of us who have Alpha funded PA are doing exactly that - ALPHA FUNDING.

The reward we reap is early access to the game and perhaps a tangible input as to it's development. I never played Darwinia/Multi, but I did buy Uplink as soon as it came out (I was very young then) and DEFCON is pretty cool when I got it on Steam a few months ago. I knew IV make decent games and I wanted to support them. Why are the torrenters getting the benefit yet still £20 better off?

I won't say I never torrent games because I do, but it's usually older games (Though since I discovered GOG.com, I've developed a preference for them due to the fact they make old games compatible with modern systems). This is an alpha fund, and I don't think it's really acceptable to torrent.

It can be, if you consider most pirates wont pay anyway.

There will still be some amongst them who do truly appreciate your product.

Can you stop software piracy any more than you can stop the thoughts of man? Can you really patent "information" (all that software is)?
