Where can I get the English variant of language.dat? I have rather good russian version, but all english mods are not supported.

If you still have your installation CD running around, it should be on that. Look in languages.dat (it is a .rar archive -- you will have to extract it). If that does not work, email me (my email is in my profile), and I will send you the files you need.

Then another question.
What else do I need to change except putting the .txt and .bmp files into the language.dat? The matter is the game is still trying to find russian.txt!

There is a setting in the game that will change the language. If you can start Darwinia, change the language settings. It should be in "Options" -> "Other Options." Otherwise, change the line in preferences.txt that selects your language.
