Insurrection - just a little help please

Recently downloaded Insurrection and loving the game so far. Took me a while to adjust tactics from Darwinia gameplay though

Anyway, just heading into discovery level and understand what I have to do but can only run one program i.e. have one program slot which is taken up by the squad. Level seems pretty impossible to do without an Engineer or two. Only way to run the Engineer prog is to kill the squad and then it's game over for that level.

Is it me just being dense and missing the point? Or should I have more than one program slot.

A couple of hints: What happens when you get the squad to the top of the hill? Also, are there any other levels available to play?

Planning your whole method of attack from the beginning, eh? I do that too, sometimes. I'm glad you figured it out, and that you are enjoying the mod.

I know this thread is very old, but I need some help in that level too and I don't want to make another thread... THE LEVEL IS IMPOSSIBLE!!! I can't even get the squad up one hill, so how am I going to finish 3 islands? I want to kill myself, but I can kill xander instead

All I can say is that it is possible. You need to be careful, and manage your resources. Also, remember that spiders jump at where you were, not where you are. Thus, keep moving. Don't stop. Ever.
