Saving progress in mods...

Postby LittleGreenGuy357 » Fri Feb 23, 2007 2:57 am

I recently downloaded some mods, but there is one question I have: Can you save the progress you made in the mod? I was playing one, switched to another, and switched back, but it resets to the very beginning each time. Is this normal?

You can save progress in mods but currently it's a bit clunky;

You have to first load the mod you wish to play. This deactivates all your current profile and switches you to the game's 'none' profile, mainly so it doesn't crash when you load a mod. Then you must either create a new profile (try to include the mod name), or load an existing profile you have made for that mod (hence why including the mod name is a good idea)

If you do accidently load up a profile for a different mod, you'll experience crashes on start up with 'invalid map file specified' until you edit your preferences.txt and clear the 'UserProfile = ' line out.
