So... what prevents the person from leaving the level and coming back and seeing the first level?

A script.

Another feature request: add a flag to SafeAreas to be able to chose the direction of the inequality for the comparison. Currently it seems SafeAreas follow these rules:

Code: Select all

   teams 0   2 : online if pop >= n
   team    1   : online if pop <= n

Neither rising red, nor falling green populations can be detected. If a boolean flag were added to the SafeArea parameters, then the inequalities could be flipped on a case by case basis. If the flag were missing, the original game behavior should be the default.

If it becomes possible to make virii on other teams it would be neat to have a way to direct them like Darwinians. Say, having them respond to officers or the ability to create Virii officers.

Did this ever come out? And is it a patch, or a supermod that is always on? I think that patches have to be made by the creators of the game.

Edit: Never mind, I didn't see he was staff (sorry).

DynamicBuildings, eh?

How about a DynamicUnit to go with them?
Let's see:
- DynamicUnit, a versitle unit with numerous features
- Can use any shape (ala StaticShapes)
- Can have AI (selected from all the AI types available in the regular game)
- Can be allowed to reprogram or use ports via toggles.
- Special ports can be placed on DynamicBuildings which only the correct unit type can use.
- Movement type: walking (what Squads do), floating (like Engineers), hovering (used by DGs; floating, but only over ground)
- Select any team
- Can be added to Task Manager for spawning, or spawned from Incubators or Spawnpoints instead of DGs
- Can have various attack types, such as lasers

I know this will take an awful lot of programming to implement. Release it in ANOTHER patch after the rest of the features, alright?

<(prod)>

Sorry, make that:

<(bump)>

So, what's the news? If it got relegated to the back due to subversion, I understand.

This forum is totally dead. :(

Let's bump some threads.

What happened to this patch? It sounded like Darwinia would get even more awesome. It seems Introversion have forgotten the land of Protologic. :(

Everyone else gave up on this patch years ago. I suggest you do the same - it isn't going to happen. Ever.

You are right about the forum - it is deader than <insert favorite Cat phrase here>. Rather than raising old threads from the dead, why not get working on a mod or something to breath a bit of life back into the forum. In all honesty, though, it is probably beyond saving. There is only one thing I can think of that would do it, and that isn't ever going to happen either so there is no point in mentioning it.
