Artificial life simulator in Darwinia?
Ive been reading on AI over the summer and have recently finished making an artificial life simulator. It just makes a basic food chain with plants, herbivores, and carnivores. Their behaviors evolve through reproduction and natural selection over time so that they develop strategies to live longer. The only thing I dont like though is that all the simulator looks like visually is a bunch of red and blue arrows moving around a white board with plants scattered everywhere. Is there any way I could mod Darwinia so that I could basically have the same thing in the Darwinia world, and reprogram the AI in those 3d viruses and creature things so that they act as herbivores and carnivores instead?

That program sounds fantastic ( I like GOL and suchlike ), but Darwinia modding wont even come close to doing what you want - not even an tiny bit. No way. We all dream that someday we will be able to do fantastical things with Darwinia, but it looks like a long way off at the moment.
If you mastered AI in a summer, you could master openGL by christmas. Thats your best bet. You could get something "darwinia-inspired" without too much trouble. There is a lot of stuff out there - Ive found NeH to be an excellent resource.
