Getting rid of world?

Is it possible to get rid of the Darwinia model on the world map, and just have it so you can just see the background, and able to pick the maps on the internet thingy? Or able to move the camera out of the Darwinia map? Thinking of having the Darwinians travel up a new link from the soul repository system, to a seperate network that Dr. Sepulveda created.

You can alter or replace the shape files used for the Darwinia Globe, if you want to make a mod that takes place in an alternate system. Nihil has a guide to do that on his site.

As to removing it all together, well, I'm sure after reading that article, you'd be well on your way to knowing how to do it - I don't think completely removing it has been done yet in a mod.

I don't have 3ds max, so I'm kinda screwed I guess. I might be able to make the world really small, so it's almost invisible, and place the locations by modifying the x y z coordinates. Thanks for the help anyways.

EDIT: Or might just make the globe invisible, and bigger, so it doesn't go flying off the flip knows where, because there are no boundarys.

There are three files - and making them invisible is easy to do by hand. Just delete the entire triangles section from globalworld_outer.shp and globalworld_inner.shp, and delete the GunMetal section from globalworld_middle.shp. I tried it out yesterday.
