Lowell wrote:Here is the latest update of maps for The_Particles_Within. I have rebuilt nucleus and several changes over all maps. A new profile will be needed.

I am late getting the update out because map Hadron is giving me fits about having a team one AI Unit. The map runs great without it, but I want it in. That can be fixed on the next update and won't effect your game play. If I get it worked out in the next day or two I will post a new update for it. As I said the mission runs fine without it.

If any modders would like to look at map Hadron, I have the AI Unit set as team zero right now, if anyone sees something I haven't please let me know.
EDIT//Bumped to new version...see new link.

Any comments are greatly appreciated as it olny makes for better games for everyone. If anyone has any mission ideas let me know.

sorry...this needed to be on a fresh page so people would see it

EDIT// Made a correction... now at version 0.4

Lowell, thanks. That worked! At first glance I seem to prefer this mod as it allows me to employ some strategy and gameplay skills and that's what I enjoy doing during my downtime.

....you are very welcome....

Have fun and let me know what you think with this version. You may have to watch your research with points earned with your Engineers. It is actually a tad better than the cubes because it allows you to research which way you like to play. I always like to use Rockets to kill Soul Distroyers, never used armor. You have to have a good long range and have to get your camera right down in the dirt, at the squads eye level...then shoot "up." You have to get way down or you will blowup your feet. For SoulDistroyers you have to hit them in the head...I aim for the noise. Anyway I hope I have it setup to where everyone can play through with their style of play somewhat.

You should see a marked differance in frame rate /game speed.

I have to make a revision to the last update. I have played the new map nucleus three times, I just played and when I got to the top and killed off the ant hill, there were a zillion virii on the map on that side. For some reason the spawn population lock didn't kick in. I made an adjustment that should fix the trouble.

Edit//Bumped to new version...see new link.

I might also add that if anyone wants to use the static shapes I made you are welcome to use them. I have some new ones on the way.

I noticed that for some reason the officers come up as invisable. I used a script triger to give officer research when you spawn a green darwinian at the center incubator. It triggers and gives officers, but they are clear and I haven't chabged anything about them so I am going to have to look into this more. It for sure may need an update.

If any moders know what may be the trouble with my officers comming up invisable please let me know. I will work on this Monday. They work but after you set them and release them you can't click on them again ever... it's one thing after anouther...

I was looking at my in-game map and mission files. I found a couple map files that have several lines of text that I don't think were there weeks ago...here is a sample from my Yard map file I found...

The map editor crashed one day and wiped out my mods game text file, I rebuilt it and everything runs fine but my officers are clear both in-game and all mods, once set I can't ever click on them again. The shp and sprite files for the officers are fine so I am not sure why they are clear? Many of the in-game files look this way, not in my mod though...just the in-game ones. if I zip certian game files to someone could they be looked over then sent back fixed when they have time? If not I can save all my stuff and do a reload from steam.

"Thanks for any help in advance..."
EDIT// I could just erase all the extra lines...?
EDIT//EDIT// maybe this makes me a good candidate for the new 1.5 patch :D

Lowell, nope you're right again. I didn't think about replacing the profile with a new one or just resetting the MOD field above. Anyway, did both and all is well again with 0.4 . Thanks!

cool... I think nucleus plays much better than before. In version 4 I had to add the script triggers for two items in nucleus. They are items you will need just about the right time.

Let me know if it needs any adjusting...
Thanks

EDIT// I switch and play all the mods allot and mine. I find that I have less troubles if I clear out those entries and start with them blank, then go in-game and in the world space I create/change my profile then pick the mod from my list.

Also if you make maps and change them and test with profiles you will need to delete the old ones because the game puts a game file for each map for every mod you play and the game too. There are three folders you need to always keep "AccessAll..." "Your main GAME username" "NewUser" you will see other folders for the profiles you make. C:\Games\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\your user name\darwinia\users\ ...
If your game crashes look at the "BlackBox" text file.

hmmm, wonder if you could add an "auto-update" option for the mods :D

sarcasm.. I know :)

Anyway, how can I save my status on the level when I apply each of these updates?

Well, when ever there is a major building change or script you may have to reset your profile.
The reason is when you start up a game/mod, the game writes you a game text file inside your "profile" folder. It reads it at the start, so any changes will not appear unless you reset/change profile..
I too wish there were such an update tool, but I'm afraid all mods for any game would most likely be the same.

I am sorry about the fixs. That is my fault. I should have had my ducks in a row better when I posted version 0.3. However, everything is set and working, so I guess version 0.5 is set. There should be no reason it should change and the next updates you can start from map Lepton.
