Spawning Centipedes

Postby Enzyme » Mon Mar 14, 2005 10:35 am

Is there some trick to spawning centipedes that I don't know about? I've been playing around with the editor and have slowly worked out how to create most game objects. But I still can't get centipedes to work (level crashes instantly), nor can I get engineers to repair buildings (level crashes when the engineer is nearing job done).

What's going on?

Centidpedes need to have a size over about 7 to be useful, and you need to tick the "in first" or some such box so that the game knows it is ONE unit, not lots of them. :)

Thanks for Icepick telling me this when I had the problem ages ago :D

Thanks, I never noticed that you could assign a size to them. I had seen the "in first" or whatever it's called box, but ticking that without assigning a proper size wouldn't work I suppose.

The unit size for a Centipede is the number of segments the Centipede will have. If you set it to 20, you will get a fairly large one. Setting In Unit (not In First :P ) to 1 makes the whole thing into one unit - without it, the game will crash instantly.
