Timing missions

Postby Jackmn » Tue Mar 08, 2005 11:14 pm

The best method I have come up with so far is placing an island in the middle of nowhere with a spawnpoint that spawns yellow darwinians once per second, beside a safearea that requires (x) number of darwinians, where x is the length of the mission in seconds.

Unfortunately, I can't find any way to make it so you lose the missions if an objective is not met. In the case of siege, the objective is to keep the number of living green darwinians above one before the timer runs out.

Once the threshold for a safearea is met, it will not revert to being 'incomplete' if the number of units in its proximity drops below that threshold. This means I can't simply place a safearea around my base requiring that there be at least one living green Darwinian.

Any thoughts or improvements?

Edit:

Mayhaps triggering a script at the end of the countdown that changes the mission file to one that requires the one Darwinian safearea be online perhaps? I don't know if the safearea stays 'online' after its threshold is met.

Edit 2:

No, that would clear out all the units. No good.
