Can't modify preferences under Ubuntu

Postby ciarals » Wed Jul 18, 2007 12:51 am

Hi!
Darwinia works fine in my Ubuntu. The only problem is that I can't modify the graphic settings: they're set to high and I want to set them to low. But when I change them and apply, I close the windows and immediately reopen it, they're come back to high. How can I do? Where can I find in Ubuntu the file Preferences.txt? I can't find it!

Preferences.txt should be under ~/.darwinia/full/preferences.txt :)

I thought you said you used Windows Vista...

Yeah, you're right. :D I use Vista for everything (games, work, internet, etc.) and Ubuntu only for...experiment. So I was trying to play Darwinia also on it! A friend of mine told me how to do and it's working. The only problem, as I said, are the preferencese.
I'm a newbie of Ubuntu: what does ~/. mean? Thanks for the answer! 8)

EDIT: I've found the file using the command "locate". I've modified it and now everything works fine. Thanks for the help! Bye!
