mouseclicking

Postby cyberbillp » Fri Dec 31, 2004 8:03 am

I'm having trouble with mouse clicks. Like when I want a squad or engineer to move, sometimes i have to click several times before the target position highlights and the squad moves. Also, sometimes when I'm hammering the laser shots and grenades, the game gets confused and moves me when I never let up on the RMB, and sometimes it even zoom in, when I never touched the MMB (wheel).

I switched to Fedora Core 3 this past week. Haven't seen this behaviour on my old OS. Was RH 8 or Xandros. Can't remember exactly which one I installed on first, but it worked ok there. Just FC3 or the new beta is giving me mouse problems.

There is already a bug for the unresponsive mouse at least. I find this only at very low frame rates, though it should not to tied to the renderer at all.

I get it most of the time, and my frame rate is always high...

Same here and my fps is usually ~30-35.

beta 5 is a little better

The mouse works more often, but I still have to click in the same location 3 or 4 times before the target point lights and the engineer responds. But it works with only one click more often now. Like 50-60% of the time.

thats not darwinia's fault. depending on your X configuration, 3 mouse button emulation may be enabled. that means when you click LMB and RMB simultaneously it's the same as MMB. you can try it in your window manager: select some text (with LMB) and paste it somewhere: it works with MMB and with LMB+RMB.

fixed

If you read John's message above, he says it was fixed months ago.

I guess I was dropped out of later betas (stopped getting emails) so I don't know if my unresponsive mouse got fixed or not. But the zooming problem had went away the last time I checked.

I think that I have also been getting this with the full version. Though I can't test now, as my main computer (the only one capable of playing darwinia) committed suicide.
