Performance if pixel effect with DRI drivers.

Postby Bruce42 » Fri Dec 31, 2004 7:21 am

When I turn on the pixel effect with open radeon r100 dri drivers I find the frame rate drops from 50 to 7 FPS. With nvidia drivers (and very different card) it drops from 78 to 68.

This may be normal and not a bug, I do not know.

Umm... So you got the game running with ATI DRM-drivers? What graphical card do you have?

64M DDR radeon. The game works fine apart from this and resolution change I mentioned elsewhere.

There's not much we can do about the pixel effect causing such a drop in framerate. It's due to the use of glCopyTexImage2D which is very slow in the current xfree86 ati dri drivers.
