SysInfo tool gets wrong video card

Postby ReKleSS » Mon Dec 20, 2004 9:55 pm

Hi,
when I ran the sysinfo tool, in returned my secondary video card, instead of my primary one. I corrected it manually. Here's the relevant output from lspci:

Code: Select all

...
00:09.0 VGA compatible controller: S3 Inc. 86c775/86c785 [Trio 64V2/DX or /GX] (rev 04)
...
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV20 [GeForce3 Ti 500] (rev a3)

Maybe in cases like this there should be a prompt as to which one is primary, or maybe just log both?

...and this prevents me from running darwinia, because now Darwinia retrieves the wrong video card. Maybe I should just leave things alone.... I'll upload the incorrect version of the sysinfo file so I can actually get some testing done.

Yeah, it's probably best to leave it, as Darwinia has the sysinfo code inside it and uses that when it's run. That's all it's used for, AFAIK.
