Finishing Gestures - order of release of keys

Postby Monkeyfood » Thu Dec 02, 2004 5:20 pm

I've noticed that (when invoking a gesture) if you accidentally release the option button before releasing the mouse button then the "task manager" disappears and the gesture is not completed.

This is a minor bug - if it is a bug at all. But it has a knock-on effect.

The next time you start to invoke a gesture, a line will appear from the last place you had the mouse down (in the last gesture) - to the first place you click in the new gesture.

here's some crap pics to illustrate:
point a shows start point when the mousedown event happens) - point b shows the endpoint - where the mouse is released.

1st gesture (e.g. grenade)

The option button is released before the mouse button. (no feedback about gesture success/failure.)

Then doing the same gesture again (green line shows line automatically drawn:)

Even though the mouse goes down at point a a line is instantly drawn b->a before the normal a->b line.

Does that make sense?

I remember something being said about this before, I've also experienced it myself, it's not a Mac specific thing. I cna't find the topic right now, but I'm sure it's been covered. :)
