I used to have a Radeon X600 card with 256mb of RAM. I now have a GeForce 7200 GT with 256mb of ram. I used to be able to run Darwinia on 1280x1024 resolution with everything on the highest settings without a hint of lag. I can now not even run Darwinia on the absolute lowest resolution with the absolute lowest settings; I get around 2-4 fps. I am not sure what the problem is, though. At first glance you would assume it was the videocard's fault, however I can run games like Unreal Tournament 2004 on 1280x1024 with all highest settings with NO lag whatsoever. I've had my processor for a while and it might be on the fritz. Could it have a problem loading some component of Darwinia which would cause it to crap out?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm working on a Darwinia banner and will have it done soon.As has been repeated often, claiming that you can run game X perfectly, then wondering why Darwinia doesn't run perfectly, gives us no information whatsoever. First off, it is quite likely that the other games that you are running (Unreal Tournament, for instance) use DirectX, not OpenGL. Some video cards (and some drivers) have better support for OpenGL than others. My first guess would be that your card (and the drivers that you are using) have lousy OpenGL support. Make sure that your drivers are up to date, and you might have better luck.

Seeing as how my cards do support OpenGL 2.0, I thought it was the drivers. I uninstalled all drivers, and used a special tool to remove the dlls left behind. I then installed the drivers than came on the disk. Not the lastest, but they should be stable. They work PERFECTLY!
I recently upgraded my system so that I could have two of these cards running in SLI; so I have that and a 3.0Ghz dual core processor that make this game run beautifully!
I have everything at highest settings and I constantly have 60fps. So long story short, I'll never upgrade my stupid NVIDIA drivers xD

I'm working on a Darwinia banner and will have it done soon....newer Nvidia drivers may not include opengl support by default. You shouldn't have to backtrack the driver version to get Darwinia running. Just read the installation details real careful and look for opengl options. I'm a linux guy, and over here you have to install a second package (well sorta) to get full opengl support from Nvidia cards. Sounds like your CPU was doing all the opengl work. That happned to me once -- I only had the Nvidia drivers half-installed...
