Super Problems
Okay. So I was on a run around town with my room-mate and we went to Roses. In Roses I found the game for severe discount and realized how much of a good deal it was. I immediately took it back to the room and started to install it. After I installed, I ran the game. It had the video at the beginning and whatnot and everything was all fine and dandy. Soon it came time to start the first level. I clicked on the Garden thing and all of a sudden CRASH. I went back to reinstall it, but it didn't do anything at all. It was kinda ridiculous. I noticed that it didn't seem to be installing anything at all. I checked the folder it was supposed to be installing into and there was nothing there. No files. Nothing. Then I checked if there was anything on the cd by opening it with explorer. There were four folders and a autorun icon. These folders are "demos", "directx9", "installer", and "trailers". Installer of course has the installer, and the same about the other folders. I don't even know if this is right or not, just putting as much info out as possible to get an accurate response. I also tried updating it, hoping that would work, and it didn't. It said that in order to update, the original version had to be installed. Now, what the heck? I HAD installed it. Please fix this asap...
First off, when you want help, it helps if you are clear about what your problem is, what you have done to attempt to fix it, and what kind of hardware you have. You have confused me as to what exactly your problem is by providing way more backstory than I care about or need, haven't really told me what you have done to fix the problem, and provided no details about your hardware. That makes it very hard to help.
However, it is possible that your graphics card does not support some of the things that Darwinia uses by default. In your Darwinia directory (the directory on your hard drive where Darwinia is installed -- probably C:\Program Files\Darwinia), there should be a file called "preferences.txt". Open that file, and add a line that reads "RenderLandscapeMode = 1". See if that helps. If not, please report back here with a clear, concise description of your problem, and what hardware you have (processor, RAM, video card, &c.).
