Darwinia refuses to run with the latest patch

Hello everybody...when I first installed Darwinia, it was running without any problem. But when I installed the latest patch, every time I tried to enter a level from the main menu, the game crashed because of an unknow error! I updated directx, video card drivers (I've got an Intel) and ran windows update, but without any result...why???

After i download the patch the game works fine, but at the levle selector everything just looks psyco
I can get into levles by clicking randomly.
