Darwinia Crashes or Reboots Computer on Containment

Hi I seem to have a problem with this game on the Containment level. It seems to freeze and crash frequently for no reason.

Operating System :Windows XP SP2 all updates
Processor : AMD Opteron 165 (stock clock)
Memory: 2gb PC3200 Corsair XMS
DirectX version: DirectX 9.0c

Video Card Device:
Chip Type: GeForce 7600 GT
Approx. Total Memory: 256mb

Video Card Drivers:

So far I have tried the "set affinity" and that has not worked.

Edit: found the problem, game does not work with hardware sound, and 44hz sampling rates. For some reason IV doesn't like Creative X-Fi
