difficulty cannot be changed

i played and beat darwinia before the last patch came out. so i reinstalled it (steam version) and noticed this difficulty setting. in the game i see the difficulty is set at 10... despite the fact that when i leave an "area" and go to the main world screen the difficulty can be changed to whatever. no matter what i do the game still only plays at the set difficulty of 10 while commanding sqauds and what-not.

anybody else have this problem? if this is unique to steam maybe i'll just get the boxed copy of defcon when it comes out (considering if it even does get releaed on steam).

If you 'Leave Level', change difficulty, and go back in to the level, then it'll be the same difficulty level. If you 'Reset Level', then change difficulty level on the Global Map and re-enter the level, then the new choice should take.

No problem. That you had to do that wasn't exactly spelled out anywhere, so it probably wouldn't have been necessarily obvious.

I had a same problem, I restarted the level, changed the difficulty but still IT DID NOT CHANGE!!
I even restarted the mod and still nothing.
