Was working, now isn't - unsure what if anything has changed in my general Windows install. On startup, screen goes black then gives me a Windows dialog box with the audio error shopwn in the blackbox.txt, below:

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game, (including deleting the darwina folder from SteamApps), and updatd my audio drivers to the ones released yesterday by Creative. Also tried:
reducing Directsound acceleration to zero in dxdiag
setting SoundHW3D = 0 in preferences.txt
setting SoundDSP = 0 in preferences.txt
setting BootLoader = none in preferences.txt

Current (default) Preferences.txt:

Note that I have both onboard sound (nVidia nForce4 AMD) and an Audigy2 soundcard - the Audigy2 is the windows default (I use the Nvidia with a headset). Both were enabled previouslyt when the game run without issues.

Please help - I was close to finishing this fabulous game and would really like to get it going again!

I think there is some problem with the device diver as the application is not recognizing the audio output device.
