fatal error, invalid map

re installed

now get error
"fatal error, invalid map"
cannot play, pissed off.

how do i fix this broken game.

i played game, beat game, made maps, i wanted to replay the game as if i were to play the very first time but could not play the original game just my maps, so i re installed, and the problem began.

Most likely caused by having a profile loaded for a mod that isn't set. Check your preferences and profile folder (mainly because it'll default to NewUser, and if that profile is for a mod then mccrash!) (edit - change 'mod = [stuff]' to 'mod = ', and 'profile = [stuff]' to 'profile = none', then create a new profile in the game)

Familiarise yourself with the 'unload mod' button on the mods page, that would return you to the original game, and is how you should return to it.

I'll give that a shot if I run into the problem again.

Managed to fix it by deleting the 'Darwinia' folder as a uninstall method, rather than the steam uninstall.

That did the same thing, but made you have to restore all your other settings.

And deleted all the maps you made, too, I'd expect.
