Besides,
If you're publishing on STEAM you might expect that people are used to using the mouse inverted. All games that were published via steam offered it, also because it's mainly FPS.
Maybe it's Iv that should think of things in a different perspective - this is not an FPS game, but what are the needs of your target group??
Reversing the mouse?

Re: FPS
I don't think anyone's arguing that there is no need for an invert mouse option. I prefer to use the system the way it is, and if I were ever to play an FPS game I would hope there is an option to play it without the inverted mouse.wilde_bill wrote:Besides,

Everyone should be able to play the way they want to. Invert Mouse should be included in an upcoming patch.
Some people talk because they have something to say. Others talk because they have to say something.

It should be included - but I don't think people should be getting stroppy about it.
I have a friend who plays with an inverted mouse - whenever I use his computer I just live with it. I don't have to throw a tantrum and change the settings - I just live with accidentally looking at the ceiling for a few rounds before I adjust to it. It's hard for me to play the game - but I can. Big deal.
I understand that people may find it more difficult than I do, but you cannot seriously expect Introversion to fix it immediately. Do Valve fix a software problem within less than a week of it just being mentioned on a forum? For all you know there could be a patch out tomorrow. Be patient.

I'm not getting stroppy about it. It just seemed to me that people were arguing that there should't be an invert option at all, and it kind of upset me.
I'm not demanding anything to be fixed immediately.
I'm very happy that everone agrees now that it should be on the todo list
Thanx

I just tried the game and immediately started to look for the invert mouse function. Reading through the posts here at least I know that it is on the table. I'm among the players who desperately need it. Not that I can't play without it, but I can't really enjoy the game as I'm not comfortable with self correcting my "instinct" moves every second.
For the one who suggested that in this game the mouse controls the cursor and not the view directly... I think it is correct, however what is more important than this logic is the fact, that you use the mouse to AIM when fighting! This is the part where you need to be quick, tight and precise. AIMing without having the invert mouse function is difficult because what happens goes against the "instincts".
I agree that the invert mouse function is not an easy fix once it got forgotten, but a must have. Funny to see that there is a 1.3 patch already and it is not included.
Personally I enjoy playing the demo, however I'm sure that I won't buy this game (==> pay a single cent to the developer) until the mouse thing gets fixed. The idea of the game is awesome but there are plenty similar ones with a more comfortable control settings.

Yes me too
I am seeking an invert mouse option as well, the game is fly and I want to play lots, but alas, my inverted mouse is nowhere to be found. :\
Could this not be achived with some sort of emulator software?
Some software that inverted the up and down movement of the mouse in windows and took this inversion into the game?
Controlling the cursor before getting into the level itself would be troublesome but once in the level it'd the correct feel for all you inverties out there?
Just a suggestion. I dont even know if such software exists.
My view on the subject:
Im not inverting anything. I fact when playing or even looking at someone playing inverted I get headaches!
I see this game as a strategy game. Classic Strategy games are viewed top down and mostly scroll the camera arround. Thats why the mouse controls in this game feels natural to me. Im not saying there shouldnt be one, but I can surely see why the developers didnt see it fit to implement one in the first place.
My two cents on this matter. And Im a lefty so often all the default keyboard bindings have to be redefined
Its not easy being a game developer today.

invert mouse
I found that ALL 3D interfaces are best controlled by inverted Y-axis and 2D interface by regular Y-axis. See it as the difference between moving yourself in space and moving your hand on a board (in 3D the mouse being your head and in 2D the mouse being your hand)
You can use a filter driver to easily invert the Y-axis. The problem you will get is when using gesture your mouse will still be inverted. In my opinion this solution is worst than the problem itself. Trying to hack trough this would easily escalate to monstrous proportion. The fix needs to be done in the application not around it.
Despite the frustration I had with the control this game look interesting and I liked the demo, but I am going to wait and see.
Better, get me a developer CD and I will code it myself.
